(PART 2) A Business Journey Roadmap. A 10-step process to lead you to profits!

In our last blog post, we introduced the concept of the Business Journey Roadmap—a 10-step process to lead you to profits!

We delved into steps 1, 2, 3, and 4, which are conveniently discussed in the ONR Alibaba Masterclass. This 6-hour course with 125 slides walks you through the Importing journey step-by-step!

Today, we will discuss Step 5 only – Let’s go.

If you follow us on Instagram, @olive_nkirote, I have briefly summarised the remaining steps for LEARN. Steps 5-10 require learning, dedication, effort, and persistence for the fruits of your labour to be seen or harvested.

ONR has walked half the journey with you, but for the rest, you must learn and master the processes yourself. In our email, we will give you a brief rundown to help you set up and start.

There is no pride in ‘delaying and lengthening‘ a journey. If you can learn accurately and fast, you will be competitive in this highly competitive, saturated market. You can find experts online to learn from.

Step 5

I know this is a no-brainer for you. You probably already have a social media account set up and ready to go from your platform of choice; however, I have a few tips to help you position yourself for good sales. Here goes nothing:

Disclaimer: I am sharing most of the tips I am currently using or planning to use for my businesses, so consider yourself lucky to have the tea served piping hot.

  • Find a company to mirror (A large company)

When you find company ‘X’, mirror their posting habits.

  • What do they post daily? What time do they post?
  • What type of posts do they make?
  • How do they caption?
  • Do they do ads? What’s their ad copy and content?
  • Do they partner with influencers? Which ones were chosen, and why did they partner with X, Y, and Z for the job?
  • How do they use social media to meet their sales targets and quotas?

Ask yourself many questions, and do as they do. (DO MORE – DO BETTER! That’s the rule of the game.)

Don’t be afraid to mirror and do precisely that till you find what works best for you. Review this with ROI – Money and effort spent and the return on investment in sales. It’s the ultimate shortcut.

  • You can find a small business owner doing relatively well and engage them.

Olive, how do I engage with the said SME owner?

Let me not lie to you; people are busy or, better yet, they will not create time for you if they don’t know you well enough. Therefore, e-mailing or DMing is difficult. You should find a way to meet them. FACE TO FACE.

How?

Finally:

  • Seek to learn based on your knowledge from the above 2 points.

I’ve learned that the quickest way from point A to B is to find someone with experience or an expert in the field to guide you.

The difference with the expert is that it’s their job to ensure the knowledge they share with you works. Still, for someone without any moral obligation to tell you the truth/everything, you must do RESEARCH and EXPERIMENT on your own.
