Today, I am answering all your questions about the ONR Alibaba Masterclass.

(If I answer only some of the questions, we shall have a part 2 of this post, cool?)

Question 1 – Suppliers.
Most of you had questions about finding suitable suppliers to work with.
The good news is we extensively cover that in our Alibaba Masterclass. This is the Masterclass’s core topic, with more than 50 slides covering it extensively.
Out of 125 slides, slides 15 to 67 focus on Suppliers and Quality.
A few facts unknown to many:
- A good supplier determines good quality products.
- There 3 types of suppliers on Alibaba who will significantly determine the price at which you acquire your goods.
What does this mean?
To purchase quality products that won’t fade or are substandard, you need to know how to vet the suppliers on the platform correctly, and ONR teaches you that.
(The right way, not the kienyeji way of searching on Alibaba!)
Our framework can be replicated to any product you’d like to purchase. I have used this framework to import clothes, machinery, packaging bags and spice bottles.
All the products mentioned above are unrelated, but because of our framework, I was able to import each of these items seamlessly! It works like a charm!

Did you know that on Alibaba, Chinese companies have a Naming System?
One of the greatest mistakes people make on Alibaba is scrolling aimlessly and trying to buy without understanding who they are buying from. All Chinese companies share this information in their names, and an importer with experience will know this.
Knowing the supplier you are dealing with will tell you what to expect regarding price, quality and even minimum order quantity (MOQ.)

Let’s tackle the 2nd set of questions: What about importing ‘specific products’?
Question 2: Specific products.
Firstly, I commend you all for the quality of the questions you posed to ONR.

As I said in this email, knowing how to find a suitable supplier is where the gold mine is. There are many tips and tricks ‘like the one I have shared above’ that one can use to import anything.
I can only share some of my tips and tricks here because then, why would you join the class?
Products like electronics, children’s items, or items that need customising are all doable and achievable with our framework.

Let’s tackle the 3rd set of questions.
Question 3 - Shipping process and agents.
In my emails, I mentioned the 3 pillars of sourcing but have yet to share them in detail. However, if you were keen, I bet you noticed them. They include:
- Quality
- Price
- Customer Service.
It’s straightforward.
Quality should be your number 1 priority when sourcing items or importing, followed by price.
Price is important because it will determine the profits you make.
Profits = Total selling revenue – Cost of goods purchased.
Total costs of goods purchased = Cost of the products purchased from a supplier (Alibaba platform) + Cost to ship the products into the country. (Shipping agent)
Total selling revenue is determined majorly by the 3 factors I mentioned last time: The 3 ways to make more money in a business:
- Get more customers to buy your products.
- Increase your average purchasing value, i.e, the price of the sold item.
- Get your customers to buy more times.
Therefore, it’s safe to say that:
- Working with a good supplier offering you good quality products will allow you to sell at a higher price.
- Working with an honest, timely shipping agent with reasonable rates will reduce shipping costs and increase potential profit margins.
To answer the shipping questions:
- ONR shares our personally recommended shipping agents for both sea and air. These are the shipping agents we are currently working with. You’ll get their contacts and location.
- We also share our preferred method of shipping and our reasons why.
- We also share any changes to our shipping agents, reasons for changing a shipping agent, any new shipping agent we choose to work with and our experience with them.
As we wrap up, let’s tackle the most asked questions.
